Turmeric comes from the root of Curcuma Longa, a plant in the ginger family native to India. The dried root is ground into a powder and most commonly used as a spice in South Asian cooking. Known as the spice of life, Turmeric has been revered for thousands of years for its medicinal properties and is extensively used in Ayurveda for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant properties. Spiritually, it is believed to balance the energies of the body and to promote the overall well being.
We, at Turmeric, believe that good food also goes a long way in ensuring the well being of a person. So we promise to use only the freshest ingredients and the highest quality spices in our kitchen as we endeavor to provide our customers with healthy and delicious Indian food. Turmeric is of course an essential ingredient in all curries and appetizers.
